iris-web-browser Webkit-based Iris browser for Windows Mobile hits Beta 2

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Torch Mobile and their Webkit-based Iris browser for Windows Mobile. Now they’re out with the Beta 2 version, which is reportedly more stable than the previous release. According to the company, over 100 bugs and issues were fixed and the browser is more optimized than ever. In addition, the user interface is slightly improved and so is the overall page rendering.

However, this time around they suggest using Iris on a Windows Mobile device with a 400 MHz CPU and at least 128 MB of RAM. This excludes many of the last year smartphones, but hey, something’s gotta give.

I don’t have a Windows Mobile smartphone, so I couldn’t try it out. If anyone of you installs Iris, we’re eager to hear your thoughts. Comment form is all yours…
